We have transported dogs of all sizes, breeds and temperments. Several of our transports we have had up to 4 dogs from the same customer of course. They all have their different personalities. It is very interesting to watch them as they come around to trusting this stranger they are traveling with. By the end of the transport there is definitely a Road - Buddy relationship.
The most difficult part for us when transporting pets is at the end of the transport - saying goodbye to our co-pilots! We definitely become so very attached to them!

Now cats are a little different. They keep to themselves in their crate and just sleep most of the way. For the longer cat trips they can lay back in their "kitty condo" that we set up for them where they have enough room to move around, having a separate place to relax and eat away from their litter box.

Much like cats, these pets pretty much stay to themselves. They are all very fragile animals to transport. With these transports, our drivers were extra aware of temperature and the special care that these fragile pets require.

Meet Our Transporters
RISA
Risa is a retired school principal. She and her son Jason started 5 Star Pet Relocation Services LLC in January of 2021. Risa has experience with a variety of pets. She has transported everything from dogs of all sizes and temperaments to cats, guinea pigs, parrots and chameleons.
JASON
Jason is a USAF veteran. He served for 7 years during the Iraq War. He then went to Culinary School and worked as a chef until 2021. Jason does most of the pet transports that include transporting a vehicle. He has experience in transporting dogs and cats and has had the pleasure of driving a variety of vehicles from VW Bugs to Lexus SUV's to Land Rover Defenders.
MARSHALL
Marshall has been with us since the company started. He is a great with all types of animals. He has experience and a passion for transporting Bully Breeds and Bigger Dogs in general. He also has experience in transporting customers vehicles with their pets when they have been relocating. Marshall's Service Dog Ayra sometimes travels with him. Ayra is very well behaved and travels in the front seat next to Marshall.
MATT
Matt joined us early on and has transported a variety of pets. Everything from dogs to rabbits. Matt easily adapts to the variety of pets he transports.

5 Star Pet Relocation Services really lived up to their name. We had to find someone to take our beloved cattle dog and our car across the country from Maine to California with a week's notice and were nervous about it as we've never sent our dog on a road trip without us. Risa and team were absolutely top notch. Clear communication, every request was documented in our agreement before the trip, and payment was split 50/50 between signing the agreement and our dog getting home to us. Marshall, who drove our dog and car, was very professional. He sent photos every few hours on the drive, and was careful to make sure our dog ate, drank, and had enough throughout the trip. They arrived a day early (which was great) and Marshall communicated about their progress across the country as well, so we could be prepared to receive them when they arrived. The car was in great condition, and Marshall even topped up our oil on the way across because the oil light came on. Couldn't recommend them more - they're worth the extra you might pay, to ensure your pet is getting where they need to get safely.

So so happy that we found 5 Star Pet Relocation to transport our dog Frank, and our Range Rover across America for a coast to coast move. Frank is so so precious to us so we were really careful when picking the right person to take him on this journey. He is a ageing english bulldog and has a number of health concerns which require daily medications for seizure controls. It was a complicated journey as he's unable to fly within the US. Risa did the journey in really good time. She sent such great communication, we knew where they were multiple times a day, that he'd been medicated and was a happy boy. Mini-Labradoodle as an airplane carry on When we found out that the only way to fly him would be in the bottom of the plane. We knew had to do some research. This move was an amazing experience. I was VERY nervous because I have three French bulldogs, and two of them are exotic. I was very nervous that something would happen to them throughout the journey or that they would escape but throughout the entire trip I was reassured that they were well taken care for and that they were Vigilantly watched and Risa made sure to only take one out at a time and was on the lookout for any suspicious people. Risa also bought sweaters for the dogs to not only keep them warm but also the try and conceal their coloring. All of the effort she put in to help reassure me that they were going to be safe and protected really need this move across the country so much easier. Having multiple updates every day throughout the day including pictures really helps too, and from what I’ve read from other reviews other transporters do not put in half the amount of work that Risa does. I am so thankful that I chose Risa to transport my pups, because I truly don’t think anyone else would have been able to do as good of a job or be as helpful and vigilant as she was.

After reviewing many pet transport services, we selected Five Star Pet Relocation Services and contacted Risa to take our 6 year old Field Golden Retriever, Daisy from Massachusetts to Florida in February. Risa exceeded our expectations. She was pleasant to deal with, flexible, very professional and handled Daisy expertly. Risa had outfitted her vehicle perfectly for Daisy’s comfort and safety. She sent us twice daily photos and updates as her trip progressed and delivered Daisy to our Florida home at the exact time projected. We just used Risa and Five Star Pet Relocation to move our four parrots across the country. These birds are like children to my mother, and I thought I was not going to be to convince her to trust someone with them. Parrots are hard to travel with— they require moderate temperatures at all times, food and water multiple times of day, and they are loud. Like real loud. After interviewing Risa and hearing her experience, her insightful questions about the animals, and her impressive résumé we knew we had found the right person to entrust with our birds.
Risa played the birds videos of my mom, put on music they would like, and let them talk to her grandson. She drove through snow, ice, and extreme weather keeping us updated at every turn.
Risa also drove our Prius across the country as well, saving us money and hassle on shipping it separately.
Risa had excellent communication from booking until arrival. She was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend her for any of your animals— she will treat them with kindness and respect, keeping you updated along the way.

The true measure of Risa’s service is not how smoothly everything goes but how she responds to unexpected situations. Midway through her east to west cost drive with my car and our dogk the car suddenly “died” on interstate 80. It had been thoroughly inspected and serviced before the trip so this was a real surprise. While waiting for a tow truck she was in frequent communication with assurances that she and our dog were fine, even texted pictures! Two nights lodging were required while the car was being checked out and rendered fit to drive. Texts and pics of our dog continued.
Once back on the road Risa made excellent time and delivered the car and dog in one more day than originally planned. Our dog has always loved “road trips” and motels so she took to Risa the first day and the bond grew over the six days.

I could not have asked for a better person to transport an adopted service dog than Risa, she is amazing! Her professionalism, her attention to detail, promptness and how she communicated throughout the whole process was top notch. She was well-prepared, had safety measures in place for travel, and VERY knowledgeable on canine care.

The owner Risa answered all my questions and Marshall was great taking not only my dogs Bonnie and Clyde from NJ to my new home in AZ.. he also transported my new 2020 Subaru.

I knew the second he met my dogs ( terrier mix and miniature pinscher mix) and saw their tails wagging and playing with him I had no worries.

I don’t recommend retiring, selling your home and moving to another state all at the same time!
But when it came to the moving part, I had no clue how to get my fur babies from NJ to FL. And being a single woman I didn’t want to drive alone. Hello Google and clicked on Citizen Shipper. For 9 years Nicholas the cat was an only animal living with my mother-in-law – gentle but somewhat standoffish. When my mother-in-law died two weeks ago, we knew that Nicholas would be coming to live with us; but this presented two problems: how to transport Nicholas from San Diego to Pittsburgh; and how to make the move as smooth, safe, and relaxed as possible so that Nicholas arrived ready to adjust to his new home. This is where Risa Mancillas and 5-Star Pet Relocation entered the picture. We had heard horror stories of people booking to take a cat with them via air only to have a flight cancelled and be told by the airlines that the new flight had no room for a cat, so we decided to explore the overland route and found Risa through Citizen Shipper. We wanted someone to take Nicholas (and only Nicholas) directly from his former home in San Diego to his new home in Pittsburgh. Risa was fantastic…extremely well-organized and responsive, and very concerned with providing Nicholas with the safest and most positive experience possible. He traveled in style in Risa’s two-“room” cat condo complete with a comfortable cube, in which he spent much of his time, and an adjoining litter-box area. He ate, he drank his water, and, yes, he used the litter box — all signs that the trip was not nearly as stressful as it might have been. Risa allowed us to follow her progress across the country via GPS and we knew at all times where he was. She sent us regular text updates and photos and we knew at all times how he was. In short, our experience with Risa and 5-Star could not have been more positive. 5-Star absolutely deserves 5 stars!

Milo boarded with Risa for a week before she made the trip from Massachusetts to California with him. Great communication from Risa, we never worried that he wasn’t being cared for properly. It’s very apparent that Risa cares deeply about her cargo! All in all we were delighted with the service!

From the first time I spoke to Risa I knew she was the right person to drive our 65 lb tortoise Squish across the country. She asked all the right questions and then formulated a plan to keep the tortoise happy including changing her driving hours to accommodate his need for sunshine. She even participated in a family group chat so everyone could experience the journey. Risa went out of her way to find fresh fruits and veggies and took amazing care of him. Relocating 5 of our 7 cats using 5 Star Pet Relocation Services was a group effort. My contact was Risa, pick up was Geoff and drop off was Jason. We moved from RI to Maine and getting the cats there safely and with as little stress as possible was my biggest concern. Risa not only arranged transport but due to special circumstances also housed my cats from pick up Sunday until drop off Wednesday. They were awesome and the cats transition from the apartment to house was seamless. Jessy, Jewels, Ricky, Foxy and Cocoa arrived safe and sound and were roaming our new house within 24 hours (must less time than I thought it would take). We are all back together and couldn’t be happier!!
