We have transported dogs of all sizes, breeds and temperments. Several of our transports we have had up to 3 dogs from the same customer of course. They all have their different personalities. It is very interesting to watch them as they come around to trusting this stranger they are traveling with. By the end of the transport there is definitely a Road - Buddy relationship.
The most difficult part for us when transporting pets is at the end of the transport - saying goodbye to our co-pilots! We all become so very attached to them!

Now cats are a little different. They keep to themselves in their crate and just sleep most of the way. For the longer cat trips they can lay back in their "kitty condo" that we set up for them where they have enough room to move around, having a separate place to relax and eat away from their litter box.

Much like cats, these pets pretty much stay to themselves. They are all very fragile animals to transport. With these transports, our drivers were extra aware of temperature and the special care that these fragile pets require.

Meet Our Transporters
RISA
Risa is a retired school principal. She and her son Jason started 5 Star Pet Relocation Services LLC in January of 2021. Risa has experience with a variety of pets. She has transported everything from dogs of all sizes and temperaments to cats, guinea pigs, parrots and chameleons.
JASON
Jason is a USAF veteran. He served for 7 years during the Iraq War. He then went to Culinary School and worked as a chef until 2021. Jason does most of the pet transports that include transporting a vehicle. He has experience in transporting dogs and cats and has had the pleasure of driving a variety of vehicles from VW Bugs to Lexus SUV's to Land Rover Defenders.
MARSHALL
Marshall has been with us since the company started. He is a great with all types of animals. He has experience and a passion for transporting Bully Breeds and Bigger Dogs in general. He also has experience in transporting customers vehicles with their pets when they have been relocating. Marshall's Service Dog Ayra travels with him. Ayra is very well behaved and travels in the front seat next to Marshall.
MATT
Matt joined us early on and has transported a variety of pets. Everything from dogs to rabbits. Matt easily adapts to the variety of pets he transports.

This move was an amazing experience. I was VERY nervous because I have three French bulldogs, and two of them are exotic. I was very nervous that something would happen to them throughout the journey or that they would escape but throughout the entire trip I was reassured that they were well taken care for and that they were Vigilantly watched and Risa made sure to only take one out at a time and was on the lookout for any suspicious people. Risa also bought sweaters for the dogs to not only keep them warm but also the try and conceal their coloring. All of the effort she put in to help reassure me that they were going to be safe and protected really need this move across the country so much easier. Having multiple updates every day throughout the day including pictures really helps too, and from what I’ve read from other reviews other transporters do not put in half the amount of work that Risa does. I am so thankful that I chose Risa to transport my pups, because I truly don’t think anyone else would have been able to do as good of a job or be as helpful and vigilant as she was.

After reviewing many pet transport services, we selected Five Star Pet Relocation Services and contacted Risa to take our 6 year old Field Golden Retriever, Daisy from Massachusetts to Florida in February. Risa exceeded our expectations. She was pleasant to deal with, flexible, very professional and handled Daisy expertly. Risa had outfitted her vehicle perfectly for Daisy’s comfort and safety. She sent us twice daily photos and updates as her trip progressed and delivered Daisy to our Florida home at the exact time projected. Risa’s fee was reasonable and competitive with other transport services that only transport one owner’s pets at a time. I highly recommend her excellent service.

It was a tough transport due to inclement weather! Having a Canadian Sphinx delivery is stressful enough without weather factored in. Jason did an amazing job! We just used Risa and Five Star Pet Relocation to move our four parrots across the country. These birds are like children to my mother, and I thought I was not going to be to convince her to trust someone with them. Parrots are hard to travel with— they require moderate temperatures at all times, food and water multiple times of day, and they are loud. Like real loud. After interviewing Risa and hearing her experience, her insightful questions about the animals, and her impressive résumé we knew we had found the right person to entrust with our birds.
Risa played the birds videos of my mom, put on music they would like, and let them talk to her grandson. She drove through snow, ice, and extreme weather keeping us updated at every turn.
Risa also drove our Prius across the country as well, saving us money and hassle on shipping it separately.
Risa had excellent communication from booking until arrival. She was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend her for any of your animals— she will treat them with kindness and respect, keeping you updated along the way.

The true measure of Risa’s service is not how smoothly everything goes but how she responds to unexpected situations. Midway through her east to west cost drive with my car and our dogk the car suddenly “died” on interstate 80. It had been thoroughly inspected and serviced before the trip so this was a real surprise. While waiting for a tow truck she was in frequent communication with assurances that she and our dog were fine, even texted pictures! Two nights lodging were required while the car was being checked out and rendered fit to drive. Texts and pics of our dog continued.
Once back on the road Risa made excellent time and delivered the car and dog in one more day than originally planned. Our dog has always loved “road trips” and motels so she took to Risa the first day and the bond grew over the six days.

Moving is stressful and it took us a long time to decide on how to get our dog from point A to point B. Risa gave me peace of mind from the first phone call, she answered all my questions and then some. Risa's son Jason picked Wrangler up and then they switched and Risa dropped him off which isn't their normal model but worked just as well, both were great about communicating. After having a less than ideal experience with a petsitter recently, it was comforting to get text messages and pictures several times a day. Wrangler showed up happy and healthy and they made quick time. This ended up being the best decision we made about our move and I recommend them with no hesitation. Risa and her team were responsive, conscientious, and we knew they cared for our dogs like their own from start to finish. We couldn't fly our dogs due to heat restrictions of landing in Arizona, but they were safely and happily there when we arrived, even picking us up at the airport. I could not have asked for a better person to transport an adopted service dog than Risa, she is amazing! Her professionalism, her attention to detail, promptness and how she communicated throughout the whole process was top notch. She was well-prepared, had safety measures in place for travel, and VERY knowledgeable on canine care.
It was a first time experience for me and the adopter and the distance was across country. Our dog had the best care, even with some stool issues, Risa handled the situation with the best TLC.

Risa was absolutely wonderful! She drove our pup Moose from one side of the country to the other in the middle of winter, and got him here safe and sound. I appreciated how quickly she responded to my questions from our initial conversation and that she charged us a fair price. Moose was driven in a clean, comfy car and with Risa's daily pictures and updates I knew he was being cared for the whole way. Can’t say enough about 5 Star Pet Relocation LLC.
The owner Risa answered all my questions and Marshall was great taking not only my dogs Bonnie and Clyde from NJ to my new home in AZ.. he also transported my new 2020 Subaru.
Marshall was responsible, friendly kept me updated of his travels with my fur babies.
I knew the second he met my dogs ( terrier mix and miniature pinscher mix) and saw their tails wagging and playing with him I had no worries.
Being a recent widow and my husband did all the driving for over 21 years I was then stuck between a rock and a hard place trying to figure out what to
Bonnie can be anxious in the car since my husband passed and Clyde is a finicky eat and Marshall handle them both with ease.
Bonnie got to ride shot gun and loving her new buddy and travel out west, he also gave her daily her allergy meds, and Marshall even handled Clyde well too with his shyness on eating and need for bottled water. Yes Clyde is finicky but did excellent on the trip
Worth every penny as well as reasonably priced to have peace of mind, to know my Bonnie and Clyde had the love and one on one attention needed, and I also did not need to worry about my car which I think gave my dogs additional peace being in their own vehicle.

I don’t recommend retiring, selling your home and moving to another state all at the same time!
But when it came to the moving part, I had no clue how to get my fur babies from NJ to FL. And being a single woman I didn’t want to drive alone. Hello Google and clicked on Citizen Shipper. Yes definitely inundated with emails with quotes. Why did I choose 5 Star?? Because in Risa’s emailed quote was a detailed explanation of who and what 5 Star was about. I was so fortunate to have Risa’s son, Jason drive my SUV with my poozcats Precious 17 and Lucy 15 to FL. Jason set up my phone so I could constantly see where they were thru the whole trip. Jason slept in my SUV with my girls and always sent me pictures along the way. The pit in my stomach vanished.

Risa transported our 4 cats from Athol, MA to the Baltimore, MD area. I was so nervous to send my fur babies with a stranger. Risa made me feel at ease as soon as I met her. This experience was above and beyond what I expected. Risa took great care of my dog Briggs all the way from Massachusetts to Texas. I was very nervous about the whole thing, especially because Briggs has a tendency to get nervous/ aggressive around new ppl but from the moment she met Risa all went well. Risa was very communicative the entire time, sending pictures and even videos of Briggs in the car and on potty breaks. This was more than worth the cost. 10/10 would recommend.

If you are looking for someone to drive your fur baby, look no more. Risa is the most responsive and organized person I have met in a long time. Our Luna has spent the past three years in MA while we lived overseas. It was a very special and exciting day when she finally made it back home to Virginia Beach.
She was picked up on time in a clean van and dropped off right on time. She had walks, water and potty breaks on the drive down. We got text messages and pictures throughout the day. I know it can be a little intimidating having a complete stranger take care of your pet, but after the first phone call, I knew Luna would be in great hands.

For 9 years Nicholas the cat was an only animal living with my mother-in-law – gentle but somewhat standoffish. When my mother-in-law died two weeks ago, we knew that Nicholas would be coming to live with us; but this presented two problems: how to transport Nicholas from San Diego to Pittsburgh; and how to make the move as smooth, safe, and relaxed as possible so that Nicholas arrived ready to adjust to his new home. We had heard horror stories of people booking to take a cat with them via air only to have a flight cancelled and be told by the airlines that the new flight had no room for a cat, so we decided to explore the overland route and found Risa through Citizen Shipper. We wanted someone to take Nicholas (and only Nicholas) directly from his former home in San Diego to his new home in Pittsburgh. Risa was fantastic…extremely well-organized and responsive, and very concerned with providing Nicholas with the safest and most positive experience possible. He traveled in style in Risa’s two-“room” cat condo complete with a comfortable cube, in which he spent much of his time, and an adjoining litter-box area. He ate, he drank his water, and, yes, he used the litter box — all signs that the trip was not nearly as stressful as it might have been. Risa allowed us to follow her progress across the country via GPS and we knew at all times where he was. She sent us regular text updates and photos and we knew at all times how he was. In short, our experience with Risa and 5-Star could not have been more positive. 5-Star absolutely deserves 5 stars!

Risa drove my two guinea pigs from MA to CA in 3.5 days for my cross-country move, sleeping in her van. She is very organized and has a hope for the best, prepare for the worst philosophy. In addition to my very detailed instructions, she asked for my pigs’ vet records in case anything should happen, which I hadn’t even thought to include. At pick up, Risa spent quite a bit of time going over all their needs and getting to know the girls before we loaded them into her van. She easily secured their cage and water bottle to prevent anything from sliding. She even had a fridge for their veggies! Throughout the trip she sent detailed updates at least twice a day, which put me at ease as the pigs had never traveled for more than a couple hours. She also shared her location with me throughout the trip and I really enjoyed watching their progress across the country! Prior to drop-off at my parents’ house, she completely cleaned their cage, which was greatly appreciated! The pigs were in great shape upon arrival and are doing very well now, four days after arrival! Overall, Risa is a wonderful caretaker of even the most fragile pets! My daughter is married to a USMARINE. They moved to a military based housing in Jan, 2021, in California. They were unable to get the proper documentation submitted to the airline due to holidays, and covid cut backs on personnel. They left their 13 year old black lab with me. They were planning to fly back and pick him up, however the DOT stopped allowing any pets to travel in the cabin unless they can fit into a kennel under the seat. Tazz is 80 pounds, not an option. I hired Risa after several discussions. Tazz was 'chauffeured' to Twenty Nine Palms, CA by Risa from Cape Cod, MA.
She stopped every 3 or 4 hours for a break and a walk. She kept me posted every step of the way, she sent me photos of their trip, she allowed me to "follow" them on GPS so that I could monitor their progress. Risa went above and beyond. She picked up and delivered Tazz on time, he was happy and well cared for and ecstatic to see his 'humans' once he arrived. The best part of the story is that my kids had no idea Tazz was coming, it was a surprise for them. I included Risa in the surprise so she could share in the joy. It was perfect in every way. Kind, Gentle, Caring and Professional and just a few ways to describe Risa. I would hire her again the next time I need help!

This move was an amazing experience. I was VERY nervous because I have three French bulldogs, and two of them are exotic. I was very nervous that something would happen to them throughout the journey or that they would escape but throughout the entire trip I was reassured that they were well taken care for and that they were Vigilantly watched and Risa made sure to only take one out at a time and was on the lookout for any suspicious people. Risa also bought sweaters for the dogs to not only keep them warm but also the try and conceal their coloring. All of the effort she put in to help reassure me that they were going to be safe and protected really need this move across the country so much easier. Having multiple updates every day throughout the day including pictures really helps too, and from what I’ve read from other reviews other transporters do not put in half the amount of work that Risa does. I am so thankful that I chose Risa to transport my pups, because I truly don’t think anyone else would have been able to do as good of a job or be as helpful and vigilant as she was.

We just used Risa and Five Star Pet Relocation to move our four parrots across the country. These birds are like children to my mother, and I thought I was not going to be to convince her to trust someone with them. Parrots are hard to travel with— they require moderate temperatures at all times, food and water multiple times of day, and they are loud. Like real loud. After interviewing Risa and hearing her experience, her insightful questions about the animals, and her impressive résumé we knew we had found the right person to entrust with our birds.
Risa played the birds videos of my mom, put on music they would like, and let them talk to her grandson. She drove through snow, ice, and extreme weather keeping us updated at every turn.

The true measure of Risa’s service is not how smoothly everything goes but how she responds to unexpected situations. Midway through her east to west cost drive with my car and our dogk the car suddenly “died” on interstate 80. It had been thoroughly inspected and serviced before the trip so this was a real surprise. While waiting for a tow truck she was in frequent communication with assurances that she and our dog were fine, even texted pictures! Two nights lodging were required while the car was being checked out and rendered fit to drive. Texts and pics of our dog continued.
Once back on the road Risa made excellent time and delivered the car and dog in one more day than originally planned. Our dog has always loved “road trips” and motels so she took to Risa the first day and the bond grew over the six days.

Moving is stressful and it took us a long time to decide on how to get our dog from point A to point B. Risa gave me peace of mind from the first phone call, she answered all my questions and then some. Risa's son Jason picked Wrangler up and then they switched and Risa dropped him off which isn't their normal model but worked just as well, both were great about communicating. After having a less than ideal experience with a petsitter recently, it was comforting to get text messages and pictures several times a day. Risa and her team were responsive, conscientious, and we knew they cared for our dogs like their own from start to finish. We couldn't fly our dogs due to heat restrictions of landing in Arizona, but they were safely and happily there when we arrived, even picking us up at the airport. I could not have asked for a better person to transport an adopted service dog than Risa, she is amazing! Her professionalism, her attention to detail, promptness and how she communicated throughout the whole process was top notch. I don’t recommend retiring, selling your home and moving to another state all at the same time!
But when it came to the moving part, I had no clue how to get my fur babies from NJ to FL. And being a single woman I didn’t want to drive alone. Hello Google and clicked on Citizen Shipper. This experience was above and beyond what I expected. Risa took great care of my dog Briggs all the way from Massachusetts to Texas. For 9 years Nicholas the cat was an only animal living with my mother-in-law – gentle but somewhat standoffish. When my mother-in-law died two weeks ago, we knew that Nicholas would be coming to live with us; but this presented two problems: how to transport Nicholas from San Diego to Pittsburgh; and how to make the move as smooth, safe, and relaxed as possible so that Nicholas arrived ready to adjust to his new home. We had heard horror stories of people booking to take a cat with them via air only to have a flight cancelled and be told by the airlines that the new flight had no room for a cat, so we decided to explore the overland route and found Risa through Citizen Shipper. We wanted someone to take Nicholas (and only Nicholas) directly from his former home in San Diego to his new home in Pittsburgh. Risa was fantastic…extremely well-organized and responsive, and very concerned with providing Nicholas with the safest and most positive experience possible. He traveled in style in Risa’s two-“room” cat condo complete with a comfortable cube, in which he spent much of his time, and an adjoining litter-box area. He ate, he drank his water, and, yes, he used the litter box — all signs that the trip was not nearly as stressful as it might have been. Risa allowed us to follow her progress across the country via GPS and we knew at all times where he was. She sent us regular text updates and photos and we knew at all times how he was. In short, our experience with Risa and 5-Star could not have been more positive. 5-Star absolutely deserves 5 stars!

I could not have asked for a better experience with Risa! I would unreservedly recommend her to anyone who needs a pet transporter! Risa drove my two guinea pigs from MA to CA in 3.5 days for my cross-country move, sleeping in her van. She is very organized and has a hope for the best, prepare for the worst philosophy. In addition to my very detailed instructions, she asked for my pigs’ vet records in case anything should happen, which I hadn’t even thought to include. At pick up, Risa spent quite a bit of time going over all their needs and getting to know the girls before we loaded them into her van. She easily secured their cage and water bottle to prevent anything from sliding. She even had a fridge for their veggies! Throughout the trip she sent detailed updates at least twice a day, which put me at ease as the pigs had never traveled for more than a couple hours. She also shared her location with me throughout the trip and I really enjoyed watching their progress across the country! Prior to drop-off at my parents’ house, she completely cleaned their cage, which was greatly appreciated! The pigs were in great shape upon arrival and are doing very well now, four days after arrival! Overall, Risa is a wonderful caretaker of even the most fragile pets! Her clear and consistent communication put this nervous pet mom at complete ease!

My daughter is married to a USMARINE. They moved to a military based housing in Jan, 2021, in California. They were unable to get the proper documentation submitted to the airline due to holidays, and covid cut backs on personnel. They left their 13 year old black lab with me. They were planning to fly back and pick him up, however the DOT stopped allowing any pets to travel in the cabin unless they can fit into a kennel under the seat. Tazz is 80 pounds, not an option. I hired Risa after several discussions. Tazz was 'chauffeured' to Twenty Nine Palms, CA by Risa from Cape Cod, MA.
She stopped every 3 or 4 hours for a break and a walk. She kept me posted every step of the way, she sent me photos of their trip, she allowed me to "follow" them on GPS so that I could monitor their progress. Risa went above and beyond. She picked up and delivered Tazz on time, he was happy and well cared for and ecstatic to see his 'humans' once he arrived. The best part of the story is that my kids had no idea Tazz was coming, it was a surprise for them. I included Risa in the surprise so she could share in the joy. It was perfect in every way. Kind, Gentle, Caring and Professional and just a few ways to describe Risa. I would hire her again the next time I need help!

We are 110% happy with Five Star Pet RelocationServices. From our initial conversation with Risa through planning of our pet transport, to the final day, she was always available to us for any questions or updates. We have 4 dogs, medium to small size, and 3 cats, all of whom her son Jason (who is amazing) gladly transported in early May, 2022, from Florida to Maine(1600 miles). We cannot sing their praises loudly enough. Jason kept us updated throughout the entire trip, with pictures, text messages and calls. We really appreciated that. We will be using their services again for the return trip in the Fall. As we make this trip every year, we will certainly use them every time we travel!

Amazing to me and my dog! Found out I was deploying last minute and I needed to get my dog across the country back home. Extremely flexible with my needs and constantly kept me updated on the status of the transport throughout the process! I got pictures and texts daily. I just wanted to say I couldn't be happier with Risa taking my 3 mini-Australian shepherds and one cat from NJ to Houston TX. We are like most crazy fur baby parents. It was first a very stressful; situation not having our house not being completed and having them travel 1800 miles. But after going over all the reviews from other pet transport companies Five Star was the only one that had not one single complaint and only the best reviews. Just always updated us with pictures, text and phone calls every time she stopped to feed and let them out. I felt good about her, and she absolutely loved my dogs and cat. Risa was amazing. As a military family we are moving constantly and it’s difficult to find someone we can trust to transport our fur babies. If I could give them 6 stars I would. As anyone would be, I was initially skeptical on giving my puppy to a stranger to drive all the way across the country (NJ to CA). However, even upon inquiring, Risa gave me a call to answer all of my questions and erase any doubts. Her process is very professional. What a wonderful service we were provided by 5 Star Pet Review! I wax so concerned about my 2 cats and they provided a cube like condo for the cats which was much better than traveling in crates. My dogs were well taken care of too. Our driver Marshall, kept us up to date throughout the trip on how our 4 animals were doing. Your animals are the only ones in the car with the vehicle! From the first time I spoke to Risa I knew she was the right person to drive our 65 lb tortoise Squish across the country. She asked all the right questions and then formulated a plan to keep the tortoise happy including changing her driving hours to accommodate his need for sunshine. Relocating 5 of our 7 cats using 5 Star Pet Relocation Services was a group effort. My contact was Risa, pick up was Geoff and drop off was Jason. We moved from RI to Maine and getting the cats there safely and with as little stress as possible was my biggest concern. Risa not only arranged transport but due to special circumstances also housed my cats from pick up Sunday until drop off Wednesday. They were awesome and the cats transition from the apartment to house was seamless. Jessy, Jewels, Ricky, Foxy and Cocoa arrived safe and sound and were roaming our new house within 24 hours (must less time than I thought it would take). We are all back together and couldn’t be happier!! Thanks to the 5 Star Pet team for helping us all through the process and going above and beyond to house the cats while we moved out of RI and into ME.
